Stoke City fans: I hope you're proud

Firstly the game, a point gained given Newcastle's spanking at Wigan and Stoke's decent home record against top sides.  Still, we comprehensively outplayed Stoke for the vast majority of the game, and a mixture of bad refereeing, poor finishing and bad luck saw it end as a draw.  This is life, sometimes you don't get the rub of the green, but overall a draw is no disaster for our 3rd place quest.

Stoke are a dire dire football team who demonstrate most things that can be bad in sport.  They are a team with many thugs who have learnt to exploit poor refereeing, a lot of their deliberate fouling is pathetic and clearly something coached by their manager, their 'rugby' tactics are an embarrassment to the game, especially given that this is not a side assembled on a shoe string budget, many millions have been spent, interestingly Stoke's net spend over the last few years is way greater then ours.  The fact that this team of violent thugs also sees it as acceptable to dive to ground when barely touched is rather amusing too, for example Whitehead's laughable dive in injury time today.

Stoke's players and managers sink pretty low, but it has to be said that their fans can often be guaranteed to sink even lower, and this was again proven today.  The unique brand of aggressive, uneducated, vile and stupid individual that follows Stoke City Football Club is quite something to behold and it is not joyful, rather the opposite.  The fact that a rather large number of vermin chose to boo Aaron Ramsey today because this young footballer had the audacity have his leg recklessly snapped by the violent Stoke player, Ryan Shawcross, says it all.  They abused the young Welshman as he left the field too, it was utterly disgusting, some of the most disgraceful and brainless behaviour I have ever seen from 'football fans'.  The abuse dished out to Arsene Wenger was also completely unacceptable, it was also beneath contempt.

To finish on a positive note, well done Aaron Ramsey, he had a very decent game today, obviously he has not been on fine form, but he showed such strength of character to play so defiantly in such a heated cauldron of a stadium.  The media in this country should highlight the large number of truly despicable scum that support Stoke City and who booed Ramsey today, I doubt they will though and this makes a lot of the media just as bad for me.

Football is just a game, if you see it as more important than life or limb, then you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror, you probably have a very sad empty life and you may have something in common with a Stoke City fan.  I would rather watch Arsenal play at home in complete silence than have supporters like Stoke City, they and their club are a disgrace to the so called 'beautiful' game.

neanderthal team neanderthal fans. the media won't mention it at all they'll just go on about what a great job pulis has done in making stoke competetive. when you consider the criticism wimbledon used to get i can't understand why there seems to be a media love in for stoke.

Was this the majority of fans? Sadly, we have some pretty stupid fans as well I'm afraid. A minority I would like to think but thre are plenty of exampleson in the stands on twitter and in blogs.

There is a website somewhere which recalculates the league table taking into accounts refereeing mistakes; it turns out that Stoke get away with a lot and should be much lower in the table.

The Bear is 100% in agreement of your accurate assessment of today game. It is a poor reflection of the double standards by the English FA, Football pundits, shameful refereeing to allow Stoke to (1) Escape a fine for the mindless abuse of Ramsey today! (2). The awful abuses on the pitch by not one, but the majority of their players.

English football is in desperate need of surgery! There is a rut that spreads right to the core. A strong message needs to be sent to supporters of this foul club. But the FA is weak!

www.debatabledecisons shows Stoke get the most decisions in their favour and Arsenal the most against them. No change today.

Pulis again showed his class by saying he "didn't notice" Ramsey getting booed because he was concerned about Shawcross getting booed.............oh please

Anonymous said...

Add to that the brainless abuse of Ryan Shawcross by those anonymous fans, can't have been those fairminded people supporting Arsenal.

Anonymous said...

How do stoke fans afford tickets? From government handouts, that's how. Just look at the large bellied titty jangling gentleman above. I bet their children are so proud, although they probably have 5 dads so what does that matter.

Anonymous said...

It is time a clear message was sent to Purlis and his team of hooligans!

Their fans shamefully are mirroring the cavemen attitude played out on the pitch!

Anonymous said...

EFC here and completely agree with your assessment. Not sure why a lad who gets his leg broken by terrible tackle gets booed but am sure the Stoke fans can tell us.

As Danny murphy said these British managers like pulls mcleish etc advocate this type of shite play from their players.....

I was there. Why bother getting wound up? We all get to go back to london. They have to live in that shithole. You can't teach cretins not to be cretinous. Move on.

And the shawcross song was factual

Anonymous said...

So what shawcross got some abuse from the arsenal fans? at least there is a reason for it, unlike booing the players leg he broke (who happens to still be a shadow of the player he was before that act of violence). If you have an issue with the arsenal fans dont take it out on ramsey, i thought any half intellegent individual would know better

To read some of the reasoning that you stoke fans are posting on here , really makes the mind boggle. last 32 of the europa league it'll be yrs b4 you see that again so enjoy your relative success for now ..managers like martinez, lambert, rogers are showing you how football is going to be played... not bitter you are what you are so chant your mindless dribble just goes to show when ramsey reacted like he did after his career was nearly destroyed he was right thugs like shawcross shouldnt be on the pitch..abuse as to your nature thank you

Have no idea why the referring standards are very poor against stoke. They got a lot of decisions in their favor probably they would be relegated if these decisions didnt get in their favor. Can't believe the inbreeds got away with 15 points.

http://www.debatabledecisions.com/tables

BTW they are the most classless fans I have ever seen. Majority of the scums are justifying their behavior because some of disgraceful fans said some very offensive comments about Adebayor. They have no idea that it was criticized by majority of us. Enjoy as much as you can in premier league you wont be fortunate enough to stay up.

why on earth would you boo Ramsey? SCUMMY CLASSLESS MORONS. I thought Rambo could be as good as Fabregas before he had his leg broken so until that happened I wasn't worried about Cesc leaving. I still think he is brilliant but needs more time considering what happened. Diaby is another class act who was played out of position and has suffered the same as Rambo. Horrendous tackle. But I'm really looking forward to him getting a run as I also think he is class and has a great eye for goal. I know we keep saying next season but I really do think it could be our year 2013 - 14. So happy if we get Podolski as he will raise our competitive aggression levels which you need to beat a team like Stoke. You need to be a bit dirty to win the league. Viera and co knew that...

Some rather amusing and sonewhat limo Stoke fan comments.

Comparing booing Shawcross to booing Ramsey?

Honestly that is one of the most breathtakingly ignorant, illogical and stupid arguments I have ever heard.

It doesn't seem to get any better than that really, very amusing though, just as I would have expected, defending the utterly indefensible, I hope you are proud!

Childish? Hmmmm.

The numerous offensive remarks left by Stoke fans directed at Ramsey and our manager only go to prove just home classless and low people can go.

Beneath contempt, just like the comments that try to justify the booing of Ramsey, pathetic.

The Adebayor chants?

These were an utter disgrace, the difference? The vast majority of Arsenal fans spoke out against them. These chants were also from a small minority, not a majority of a home crowd, and a group of fans that refuse to condemn this kind of sick behaviour.

Disgraceful and digging the Stoke hole of shame deeper.

A strong clean ball winning tackle like Viera used to do got the HIghbury atmosphere up and was almost like a goal going in. nothing wrong with that. But he never came close to breaking anyones leg he was too skill full. Shawcross went to hurt the player studs up and over the top. The manager asks for that. Scum. Cried afterwards because he though he might get banned for life - he should have been.

You can't blame the arsenal fans for abusing players who break our players legs. In recent years we have had to watch sickening leg breaking tackles on Eduardo , Diaby and Ramsey. All terrible tackles... Diaby's being the worst. The one on Eduardo cost us the league. Absolute nonsense that Ramsey's leg was broken before Shawcross went through him . He mad a simple pass and shawcross went through him like he was taking a goal kick - way too late

It was a disgracefully late foot through the player tackle after an elephants touch. Watch it again... Shawrcross goes for maximum impact when he is not in control of the ball... 3 leg breaks in 3 seasons none of them accidents..

Bloody hell, there really is no reasoning with stoke support, why on earth would you defend a player that has been involved in so many horrible tackles.

after hearing pulis's interview iam utterly speechless is this guy for real.....

Anonymous said...

Yes defend Shawcross if you like and we start abusing him that's fine, but why bring Ramsey into it? Why start chanting songs like "he breaks what he wants, he breaks what he wants ryan shawcross he breaks what he wants"? why boo a guy who got his leg broke? That's not supporting your player thats abusing the player who caused our fans to abuse yours. Shawcross songs, if you really want then fine but what justification is there to boo ramsey or glorify him for breaking someone's leg?

Two years after the Ramsey incident and I have yet to hear an explanation from a Stoke fan that is anything other than totally stupid (see the the laughable his leg was already broken explanation-I'm sure the colossal oaf barreling in full pelt afterwards had nothing to do with it!). Listening to their explanations about how poor little Ryan somehow became the victim after what he did to Ramsey, is like listening Tony Cascarino trying to explain string theory. Why shouldn't Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger be annoyed at what happened to one of our players? Because a tough no nonsense Northerner like Ryan loves his Mum! A unique talent apparently. Also he's not that type of player (even though a previous ankle breaking challenge on Francis Jeffers and a horrendous tackle on Adebayor begs to differ).

And feel free to post this on some Stoke blogs. The minority that can read might enjoy it.

Stoke has a site? Neanderthals know how to use the internet well enough to make a site and there are enough cunts out there to actually get views? Didn't know this. Interesting.

Meaner says... Some games are fixed. Tony Pulvis had deliberately lost his game to Castle last week, as this result will not cost Stoke. Both these managers are anti-wenger, and both are english. Luckily Wigan’s Manager is a spanish, and beat Castle 4-0. Well done.

Infact Stoke are my most hatred team, way above the rest. Tony Pulvis is the master of cunt, including his fans.

I was starting to wonder why there was nobody apologizing for the Stoke supporters deplorable actions and explain that its just a few morons who behave this way but quickly realized all Stoke supporters are an embarrassment. No class whatsoever. Just keep running their ignorant mouths in an attempt to justify b.s. behaviour. It's really quite pathetic. And why are there so many Stoke supporters on an Arsenal blog? A bit jealous of what a real club looks like?

1979gooner said...

I have never read so much pathetic offensive purile drivel.

I have also never known so many fans try to defend something so very indefensible.

It is rather telling that not ONE Stoke fan has apologised for the abuse dished out to Ramsey.

All we have heard is defenses of the indefensible and some rather bizarre comments from some highly deluded idiots saying that Shawcross didn't break Ramsey's leg.

I have to say Stoke fans, you are cementing your reputation as one of the lowest groups of humans around in this country, keep it up.

Your aggressive bile will continue to be removed, as will any ridiculous defense of the indefensible.

I am still waiting for ONE Stoke fan to aologise, until that moment it will continue to look like you are a bunch of utter scum.

Shawcross has made three horrific tackles during his career.Their is simply no debate to be had on the Ramsey incident, it was a horrific tackle by a player who was recklessly out of control. The year before he was applauded by 25000 fans when he made an off the ground studs up tackle on another player who was a yard off the pitch and was facing the crowd, he injured Adebayor as a result.

Stoke look like a team that are stagnating. They get up for us but look like a team out of ideas. The highlight of their footballing calender is booing Ramsey and giving Arsene abuse. Try and imagine having to watch that shit week in week out and try to convince yourself that you've been entertained, that the millions that have been invested which dwarfs Arsenes net spend of £4 million since 1996 is justified. I don't hate Stoke I pity the feckers and their footballing bankrupcy. If the stoke blueprint was replicated up and down the land football would die thankfully its not. Lambert Rogers and Martinez have teams built on fractions of the budget of Stoke who would show more footballing bravery in one half than Stoke do in an entire season. They're the lowest scoring team in the league and score more than 60% of their goals from set pieces nothing wrong with that but Pulis has taken them up a footballing cul de sac which will see them relegated in the next two years.

Anonymous said...

Those prehistoric oafs will never apologize for anything. Im sick of listening to their animals grunting in the stands and watching the thugs on the pitch at their zoo. The sooner they're relegated and a decent footballing side take their place the better. Be thankful we escaped with no more broken legs and move on.

Stoke is a sh*t-hole, probably one of the worst places in the world to live, and therefore it is no surprise that the only thing they have to be proud of is the fact that their captain broke the leg of a player from one of the truly great clubs in world football. The thing that got me was that, on Match of the Day, Hansen seemed to be reluctant to fully condemn them for this. It reminds me a bit of the Liverpool fans booing Patrice Evra a few months ago. And Lineker's attempt at xenophobic humour was equally bizarre. Anyway - c'mon Arsenal!

Shawcross is no victim, stop trying to paint him as such in order to take attention away from your fans' terrible behaviour.

Your a team in decline and your scared, all your players are leaving and your support is woeful.

Marcus said...

Sorry Aaron. I hope being booed didn't make you cry.

Seriously Arsenal fans, get a grip. He broke his leg, like myself and many others have in the past. It doesn't mean noone can ever dislike him.

We don't heckle Sunderland relentlessly online, on radio phone-ins or even at games because Delap had his leg broke by a bad tackle. Its football, every player makes occasional bad tackles (especially Song and Wilshere) so stop painting Shawcross out to be some kind of thug. He was in tears for crying out loud. An over commited 20 year old whose reputation has been destroyed by one bad tackle. Or at least don't abuse hom and expect Stoke fans not to reciprocate against the man who refused to accept his apology and slandered him in the papers.

As for the Wenger mickey-taking... If you can't see the funny side then I feel sorry for you.
