Fabianski must go and defense crumbles

Watching the Arsenal-Legia Warsaw game I have just seen yet another appalling error from Lucasz Fabianski for the second Legia goal, he came for a standard in swinging corner and got nowhere near it, falling over in the process under no pressure. Ignoring the other problems with our side defensively, it is clear that Fabianski is never going to be good enough to be an Arsenal player.

He makes appalling error after appalling error, he flaps horrendously from crosses and never commands the box. Whatever one thinks of Almunia, he is vastly superior to the useless Fabianski. I really think Arsene has made a huge error in continuing to show faith in Fabianski, last season he showed his true colours with glaring error after glaring error; he is not good enough, will never be and should have been shipped out in the summer. Every time he puts on the shirt I despair, how long must we see this dead horse flogged?

There have been numerous other defensive errors and the game is not yet at half time. Obviously we have a new centre back pairing and it will take time for them to gel, but having the completely unconvincing Fabianski behind them cannot be sensible in anyone's book. Legia's first goal was a great strike but their lad had far too much time to shoot from range. The third goal saw a poor attempted clearance from Rosicky, a lucky ricochet then set up the goal. The industrious Chamakh scored with a great header to salvage a bit of pride by making it 3-1.

It is only pre-season so one must not judge too hastily, but I do not say what I have said about Fabianski lightly. I have made my mind up over a long period of time and several games which have contained numerous poor indefensible goalkeeping errors. He is not good enough and should be moved on. There comes a point when showing too much faith in a failing player becomes utterly stupid.

Just spend the money and buy a decent goalkeeper and a big centrehalf. What is the big deal?

The big deal is he won't spend sod all, he is to bloody stupid to know this team is not good enough. Please lets just hope this season is his last, I've lost my patients with this twat.

Fabianski has to play this game, as it was part of the deal that brought him to Arsenal from Legia Warsaw in the first place.

My sentiments exactly.........the lad Fabianski doesn't inspire any confidence. Also, our players must undertsnad and appreciate the danger from corners, freekicks and deal with the danger before it costs us goals. We really do need some commanding centrehalfs also.

He doesnt have to play this game - the deal was for a friendly between the two clubs - at least we can see how bad he is though on the plus side.

one week to anfield and NONE of last seasons problems have been sorted - we've actually got worse!

Lost faith in Wenger

Maybe we should just send him back then and not have to p[lay them again :-)

Well, wenger had a wonderful time in south africa watching the WC.

So you are all a bit touchy now you have finally realised that wenger is serving us Bangers and Mash and not beluga caviar.

I never seen Fabianski played a good game for Arsenal, if we still using him this year, I can guarantee we lose more goals than last year.

As soon as the Wall comes on, 2 good saves. If Wenger is willing to go for youth elsewhere, why not go with Wojciech? The man is clearly incredibly talented, and there's not much ahead of him!

This kind of goalkeeping and defense will make cesc regret staying. Fighting for titles?

doing well to go 4-3 up. Eboue! :D

Can anyone tell me why Wenger still insist to use Fabianski?

I'm not a fan of Fabianski, but it wasn't especially his fault for the 2nd goal. He went for the ball and was tripped my his own player. There are plenty of reasons to criticise him, this was just ones of those things...check out their keeper for Nasri's 6th goal, that's a proper goalkeeping mistake !

if wenger does not buy a goalkeeper then i want him out and bould to take over.

fabrigas was correct to question our ambition and wenger still sits on his hands and deludes himself about the goalkeeping situation.

We've been drawn against Young Boys in the Champs league...perhaps ARSEne should take a look at them to see if anyone there can excite him...Oh sorry I've just been told he's already downloaded plenty of young boys playing already!

Sp*rs - forever in out shadow.

I just hope that with this commitment to Legia has been fulfilled with Flappy playing, we can now ship him out to some championship side. Of the three he let in, a top class keeper would have saved at least two of them.

Sort out the fucking defence & the the goalkeeping, Wenger.

6-5 a nice defensive match to go into the Scouse game with... Ale house defending from both sides, more worryingly from us.. What will it take for AW to see we need a keeper to dominate on crosses???
Please everything else is in place to do something good except the keeper situation.. Back to fighting for 4th spot again... Fabregas on borrowed time, he will be gone this time next season, along with AW himself i reckon, which will start the beginning of the end for this era we have enjoyed for 13 years...

Unbeliveable defending.Just a joke. And its all done to Wenger.Everyman and his dog knew we needed a top class keeper to replace the two clowns except blinkered Wenger.Has he forgot how many goals Almunia and Flappyanski cost us last season? And we needed an experienced CB.What have we got Cygan's long lost cousin.
Wenger truly has lost the plot you cant win anything unless you get your defence sorted out.

Wenger is an idiot if he thinks we can go another season with the sh1te we have in goals, he should be the next one gone if he does sweet FA about our GK needs.

The second goal that appears to be getting Fabi all the criticism was as a result of vermaelen going down in front of him and tripping him up. I dont see how thats his fault.
Sure he made a few big mistakes last season and i do think we need to move on from Almunia and Fabi but I dont think Fabi is as bad as many fans make out. Almunia is a worse keeper and has less control of his area and poorer decision making. Fabi's worst trait is that sometimes his head goes down if he lets a goal in.
I would like to see Wojech be promoted if wenger fails to buy.

I would still prefer a centre back and a defensive midfielder before a keeper.

To the asshole who posted this,.....
"We've been drawn against Young Boys in the Champs league...perhaps ARSEne should take a look at them to see if anyone there can excite him...Oh sorry I've just been told he's already downloaded plenty of young boys playing already!"

fuck off you sad twat, six fingered MF.

Almunia is only marginally better than Flapianski, he's fucking useless at set pieces as well. What a sorry mess we're in - Wenger is a fucking disgrace for not getting this sorted. And to all those people who defend him, if you think there are no better goalkeepers in world football than those useless arseholes you must be out of your mind - there's bloody hundreds. There's probably 30 in the Premier League alone.

Another reason to say....."In Arsene we rust".

We need to keep Fabianski and Almunia obviously two of the best keepers in the universe. We are so lucky to have them.

Its pre- season, its a friendly and actually its a godsend- because so far the opposition had not been committed enough in pre-season. Its demonstrated that the defence needs sorting out at set pieces and in midfield. Fabianski has shown when the pressure is on -hes a different player- he panics. That kind of poor judgement cannot be risked in an EPL game.
The truth of this game is that if Warsaw did not have as bad a keeper as we had - we would have lost by an embarrassing large margin- which we will do next week if we pick the same side and play in the same way
