Watching the Arsenal-Legia Warsaw game I have just seen yet another appalling error from Lucasz Fabianski for the second Legia goal, he came for a standard in swinging corner and got nowhere near it, falling over in the process under no pressure. Ignoring the other problems with our side defensively, it is clear that Fabianski is never going to be good enough to be an Arsenal player.
He makes appalling error after appalling error, he flaps horrendously from crosses and never commands the box. Whatever one thinks of Almunia, he is vastly superior to the useless Fabianski. I really think Arsene has made a huge error in continuing to show faith in Fabianski, last season he showed his true colours with glaring error after glaring error; he is not good enough, will never be and should have been shipped out in the summer. Every time he puts on the shirt I despair, how long must we see this dead horse flogged?
There have been numerous other defensive errors and the game is not yet at half time. Obviously we have a new centre back pairing and it will take time for them to gel, but having the completely unconvincing Fabianski behind them cannot be sensible in anyone's book. Legia's first goal was a great strike but their lad had far too much time to shoot from range. The third goal saw a poor attempted clearance from Rosicky, a lucky ricochet then set up the goal. The industrious Chamakh scored with a great header to salvage a bit of pride by making it 3-1.
It is only pre-season so one must not judge too hastily, but I do not say what I have said about Fabianski lightly. I have made my mind up over a long period of time and several games which have contained numerous poor indefensible goalkeeping errors. He is not good enough and should be moved on. There comes a point when showing too much faith in a failing player becomes utterly stupid.
