Congratulations Chelsea Football Club

I may have been a little hasty to dare criticise Chelsea's Champions League triumph and the quite delectable way in which this fine football club has been managed under the fine and principled leadership of the most benevolent of dictators, Roman Abrahmovich.  I have to say that my original article was just a sarcastic piece, intended to whip up anger in all those idiots who would dare to criticise this fine model of a modern football club.  I have now decided to write this tribute to Chelsea and apologise for my vile words.

This was no dark day for football, it was a victory for free flowing attacking football created in a sustainable manner on a limited budget.  Chelsea's football was masterful, the use of the cross bar and post was majestic in both the semi-final and final, the passing to the opposition was breath taking, the honesty from the likes of Didier Drogba a great example to young children watching, and above all, the behaviour and discipline of their club captain John Terry defined the greatness of the club.

It would be irresponsible, bitter and small minded to point out that this football club has a wage bill of almost £200 million pounds and that they are losing almost £100 million a year despite increasing revenues.  It would also be unfair and spiteful to mention that this club struggles to fill its moderately sized stadium for Champions League games.  It is also deeply flawed and pathetic to point out how many hundred million have been invested in this club and where this money may have come from, this is simply beside the point.

Chelsea are a great model for us all in so many ways, we should all be encouraged to spend responsibly in order to achieve the most beautiful and elegant of victories as this noble football club have done.  In contrast it is quite despicable and disgusting that the similarly lovely football club PSG failed to win the French league title yesterday, they were cheated out of it by the paupers of Montpellier, a disgrace and what a dark day for football this was, if there was ever a lesson that we should teach our children, it is that spending more money aggressively and obnoxiously should be rewarded with such fine satisfying victories like Chelsea's on saturday.

A great victory for football, Chelsea FC, Roman the great and the ever classy John Terry.  Money is making the game great again, let us all enjoy this great moment, nip down the supermarket for a quick bit of shop lifting and then indulge ourselves in a mobile phone involving orgy fuelled by cocaine supplied by John Terry's dad.  Blue is the colour, class and morals are our game, while winning at any cost is a fine principle with which to live one's life!

Thank you, Chelsea. For "relegating" Tottenham.

You're still bastards, too, and with what you spent this should have been your 3rd or 4th. Biggest underachievers in the game. Even more so than Tottenham.

Number 1 in Europe... Number 6 in England, Number 3 in London.

People will describe you as bitter but many of the points you make are completely valid.

Chelsea fans will remember this for a long time but neutrals will continue to wonder "how the fuck did they win".

Still, life is like this and who is to say that playing fair and being morale is going to win you things.

Still, in many ways it's a phyrric victory.

Love the amount of Chelski fans the title attracted :D

Congratulations, you've done it against all odds. I support Arsenal

Honestly, if winning is the be all and end all of football then why are there so many teams in the football league, and why are there so many supporters that enjoy football despite their teams never getting near a trophy? I've never understood the 'win at all costs' mentality, I want Arsenal to win a trophy but I want us to win it because we were the best rather than riding our luck and boring the shite out of anybody watching, then again if it's a choice between boring football and no trophy or boring football and a trophy...it's not a difficult choice, is it?

Anonymous said...

Where were your morals when your manager was taking bungs, your captain was in prison and your players on the piss and gambling until they couldn't pay their debts.

DR said...

Did we not sack the manage taking bungs? And did our captain not beat an addiction to gain redemption? And as for gambling and drinking, there are rather few that can claim THAT moral high ground and frankly they're welcome to it.

Well said Uncle Mike.

I absolutely loved your original article, but this one just topped it! It just goes to show how many blues fans follow GOONER blogs.

Their football was below average on the night and much below average all season long. The way they won it, for me was just rather disrespectful to the nature of such a classy competition. At the end of the day they won it tactically, however on the football side of stuff they were shocking!

No amount of money can buy the passion commitment endurance and determination Chelsea showed on Saturday. The two centre backs giving their all for the cause, that's what Arsenal are missing.

Anonymous said...

Hahahaha, bitter twat, you've won fuck all for yet another season. Chelsea rode their luck and it paid off, the passion shown from all of the team throughout the competition is why we won it. That's what you're team is missing, 'sexy football' has got you no trophies. Take a leaf out of Chelsea's book you jealous cunt.

Just Excellent

Norman said...

Lol.......Don't worry, I'd have been just as gutted if you Gooners had won it.

Anonymous said...

It must be even worse when your own players who play for the beautiful game and arsenal philosophy jump at the chance to join anti-football teams who buy their success. On top it all, they are actually winning things. Have fun celebrating making top four and coming close to winning a Carling cup. :) Here is hoping Van Persie your loyal captain doesn't join Man City and then win his first title in England!

Chelsea posted a £28 million loss last season, and have sold out all Champions League games. Other than that, spot on with all your facts, figures, statistics, and insinuations. I mean what if I pointed out that the captain of another London-based club was accused of rape. Would that be fair?
Above all, you are just bitter. Chelsea became the first London club to win the Champions League. Ouch, that hurts. No doubt you will find virtue in your 'free-flowing' football and the impotent way your lot try to pass the ball into the net. And, of course, financial rectitude. That's the real reason why people support a club....

Superb piece.

Although done in a humourous way it makes some extremely significant underlying points, which certain critics of the piece do not seem to or are unable to grasp.

If Arsenal football club had had a billionaire sugar daddy over the past 10 years it would have been unfair on the rest of the footballing universe. Chavski and Man City are reasonable sized English clubs, but historically nowhere near as big as Man Ure, Liverpool and then the Arsenal, despite Sky Sports News determination to rewrite history, as if football didn't exist pre-sky etc. Great article as was the original article "Dark Day". You are up there with ArseBlog and 7am in terms of quality. Enjoyed and appreciated.

"No amount of money can buy the passion commitment endurance and determination Chelsea showed on Saturday"...?

I think you'll find that £750m buys you exactly that!!!!

"the captain of another London-based club was accused of rape"...?

ACCUSED!!!! I accuse you of being a paedo mate. Does that make you one?

'that's the reason people support a club'...?

Actually, we enjoy competition. if you remove that, then where's the fun?

Do we agree that it's ok for Israle to bomb the shit out of Palestine because Israel can afford bigger guns?

Chelsea fans are as classless as their owner, captain and club.
Thank you for proving it.

Well done Chelsea you have emulated those giants of the game, Steaua Bucharest.
They came to the European Cup Final, parked the bus and played for a penalty shoot-out too.
Except it didn't cost them zillions to do it.

Absolutely priceless Chelsea comments, please keep them coming, they are absolutely hilarious!

Hook, line and sinker.....

Someone protests a little much.....

Slight turn around in opinion.look on the bight side
• Spurs lose 35m
• Spurs lose their best players
• Spurs can't attract any good players
• We're still No 1 London
• Now Roman has won the CL he'll sell up

Yeah why beat around the bush 200 mill spent to win a 90 mill trophy hahaha thick chavs hahah.he didn't lie once in the article ,let's all put our bling on I've 8 rings on 1 hand, put my hoop earing on....stick the blue flag up ur arse.

Fuck me an Arsenal fan trying to be funny and intelligent on a blog, don't give up the day job will you.
You lot are making Liverpool fans less delusional by the day.

Anonymous said...

It's just a pity that you lot didn't finish fourth, our victory would have been even more enjoyable considering your envy.

But we're more than happy with Spurs making a quicker exit from the competition than Everton did a few years ago, and of course, that big cup we got as well. LOL

On Saturday 19 May 2012, Chelsea became the first London team to win the European cup and that my dear boy is how you make history. The Chelsea Wiki page has been updated and now shows that Chelsea has the best record in Europe of the London teams. 1 European cup, 2 cup winners cups and 1 super cup. Until recently I had not appreciated how poor Arsenals overall record is in Europe. How about this for your next blog title “Arsenal the under achievers in Europe”

Anonymous said...

Not sure if this is the case of sour grapes or sore arses.

Reading arsenal blogs is the second best after the victory. Please continue.

And congratulations for not winning anything in last seven years.

Birmingham.. hahahahahaha

Louisville Gooner said...

Why are you on an Arsenal blog then? Obviously you care quite a bit and I'd be willing to say you're a bit jealous of what its like being a supporter of a real club.

Louisville Gooner said...

Another brillaint post. Thanks for the laughs and once again bringing out all the moronic chelski "supporters" who worry more about what's going on in the world of Arsenal than their own club. They never cease to amuse me with their idiotic posts and blatant jealousy.

Anonymous said...

It's just amazing the defense mechanisms that Arse fans are using in their posts because Chelsea are "Champions of Europe".

The reason Chelsea fans are coming here in droves is because your sad and bitter author has dedicated two posts on an Arsenal blog all about Chelsea, we've certainly got under your skin, and we love it.

Make the most of finishing above us this season, it's the first time in 8 years you have, we're still London's top club, enjoy you're THIRD place we've got two trophies to enjoy!

Anonymous said...

To Louisville Gooner....you do realize the irony of your post, I hope? This blog has just posted twice about Chelsea's marvellous CL victory when you really should be concentrating hard on yet another cupless season.
Enjoy.

Anonymous said...

You shouldn't use the word irony to an American, after all most of them are genetically stupid and probably don't understand the term. Apologies to the clever American people. ;-)

I'm a Spurs fan and you're taking their victory far worse than we are, and we're the ones they've dumped out of the CL!

Anonymous said...

How about this for your next blog title “Arsenal the under achievers in Europe”

With grammatical accuracy, I would hope.

Anonymous said...

bitter, jealous? please

i would be if it was Fulham! a 5yr old knows right from wrong, dont kid yourself thinking the majority of the world respects you for this victory. they dont, and deep down inside im sure you dont either. unless you was raised to be an unfair cheat.
, great post.

15 str8 yrs in the cl mate without spending 750 million. underachievers? silly man. think you'l find tis u are the underachievers

Anonymous said...

LOL That's your definition of achievement 15 straight years in Europe, fuck me comedy gold!

Let's hope City do it next, you'll have a fucking stroke

Louisville Gooner said...

Ah yes going with the stupid American joke. Even worse I'm from Kentucky where we all have sex with our cousins and don't wear shoes. Going by your logic you wear a bowler hat daily, have some seriously nasty teeth, say stupid stuff like cheery oh young lad! Pip pip! and eat crumpets at tea time every day. But I guess you have to resort back to being unoriginal and spew the same tired crap as everyone else.

I remember one time I was reading a Chelsea blog and I saw... no wait I've never read one. Why would I? I don't ride their nuts like they and apparently Spurs do ours. The CL final was a big game we all as footbal fans watched and why wouldn't supporters of other clubs have opinions or point out how classless their way of doing business is? I'm sure if I had given the slightest shit about what Chelsea bloggers have to say I'd see them have opinions and talk/make jokes about other clubs as well. It's bound to happen.

I may only know a couple of Gooners here in Louisville but every football fan I know here hates Chelsea and I don't know a single spud so obviously our fans can't be too stupid.

Anonymous said...

Yep after reading that nonsensical diatribe, you're still fucking stupid.

Anonymous said...

ho ho

Chelsea fans are a rather amusing bunch

Having spent the billions you have and seeing winning the CL as such a great achievement, it really does bring tears to my eyes,

tears with laughter that is!!
