"You cannot say you are not worried when you see the performance we put in today. It's just not defensively solid enough. When you are 2-1 in front against Blackburn and you know that you are solid defensively, we will score goals."
Personally I am finding it harder and harder to listen to these statements of fact. We have a defensive problem and we have had it for years, why on earth has it not been addressed? One man has to hold his hands up for this and take responsibility for it. I am a massive Arsene Wenger fan, he is a lovely human being, as well as a highly intelligent and articulate football manager. There is only so long that devoted Arsenal fans such as myself are prepared to put up with this situation and it really hurts me that things have gone this far. It feels like I am cutting into myself with a rusty knife as I write this but I am starting to feel that if Arsene were sacked now, it would be a very justifiable decision, his position is bordering on the untenable.

And who would sort this mess out??
Time to change
Have to agree with you mate. It's lovely that you've pointed out that he is a very nice man, which is true, but also that this is something that has been going on for a long time. Had we augmented the squad a few seasons back when we knew it needed it, then maybe we'd have won something by now. Imagine if we'd had replaced Almunia three seasons ago and also got in a decent defender rather than Silvestre. If we'd won the league having been so close would Cesc and Nasri had left? Arsene doesn't seem to correlate that had he invested well in the past the present problems would probably not be here now.
The articel about who carries the ultimate responsibility is spot on. Wenger has been dodging the defence issue for years.Remember Campbell and Silvester in the defence. It was bordering on the insane.
Yes Wenger has been given more than enough time compared to other managers to turn the defence and has repeatedly failed to do so.
It has to stop at some point and I believe Wenger has reached the end of his tether. For all you know he could be axed by Xmas if things don't improve.
Which leads us to the next problem. Who is going to identify and appoint a capable manager? Gazidis? Don't make me laugh, the guy is not a football man. PHW is a bumbling old clown. The rest of the board are just counting the money and no doubt the thought of replacing AW terrifies them.
The whole club is very cosy, from the board to the players and the coaching staff. Needs sorting from top to bottom otherwise this malaise will continue for a long time.
This is all of dannys making.... for selling to stan, for spiting Dein, for not welcoming in usmanov.... that's the real issue... everything in life stems from the top... Our top now says nothing & does nothing except agree murals, agree to sell our stars, agrees to spend not all it makes, agrees to not buy stars, agrees to not compete, agrees to not put in one penny of their own money, agrees to keep things broken the same, buck stops now with silent Stan, not arsene... AW with fizman & Dein were unbeatables, without garbage, everyone is looking & blaming the wrong place... Remember the top at Chelsea before roman? Or Leeds or west ham? Arsene is a manager not an owner, he has proved he is a brilliant manager and proved he is a crap owner as this is what he has been left to do by dannys spite... Not surprised he is silent eh? Fuck off you useless silent yank cunt! We want our arsenal back...
Wenger should do the honorable thing. A bottle of Brandy, a dark room, a silencer pistol, two bullets, a Ronan Keating album, two songs should do it, lights out, game over.
Gus Hiddink to come in as a detective and clean up the mess....Sorted.
who are these dopes who keep ssying,'who would replace him?' The was a club before Wenger and there will be one after him .Vic Akers would probably do a better job than W ....anybody could do a better job than Wenger post Viera's fin al kick.
"Wenger should do the honorable thing. A bottle of Brandy, a dark room, a silencer pistol, two bullets..."
That just about sums the situation up. He'd need two bullets to get done a one bullet job.
"who are these dopes who keep ssying,'who would replace him?'" People who are not dopes. I hear people say, "Bring in Tony Adams." What has Adams managed? Wycombe, that club in Azerbaijan, and he was caretaker at Portsmouth when Redknapp left him holding the bag. I hear people say, "Bring in Martin Keown." He's never been the boss anywhere, which makes him even less qualified than Adams.
You think the board, which appears to be responsible for the apparent cheapness, is going to meet the price of Hiddink? Of van Gaal? They were willing to let Villas-Boas get away to one of our main rivals.
Giving up on Wenger now will make the Don Howe years look successful and -- dare I say it -- exciting. This is not the time to sack Le Boss. It would be blatant foolishness, both short- and long-term.
David Moyes will fix everything.
My my my how we have changed.
