Theo, injuries, Squillaci debut and Bolton

So Theo is the latest of our injured strikers, if you look at the first England goal carefully you can see that he is chopped down from behind as the cross comes in, he has twisted his ankle in the process. It doesn't sound too bad though, he wasn't in that much pain and apparently when talking to Fabio Capello about it he was fairly optimistic about a quick return. Hopefully no more than two weeks out then.

This injury led to a certain Spud coming onto this site to express his delight that an Arsenal player had been injured, in his eyes the more serious the better. Apparently certain Arsenal fans were gloating about Michael Dawson's injury on Friday night on certain Spud sites. I'd like to put this all to bed. On this site we we would like to express our hope that Michael Dawson makes a swift recovery from his knee injury, we would never express any delight at seeing a sportsman injured, whoever they play for, there is possibly one exception to this in that if a player injured themselves while committing a nasty foul then they deserve very little sympathy from anyone. If any Gooners did gloat about the Dawson injury on Spud sites they should be ashamed of themselves, but any Spuds who do the same regarding Theo have sunk to the very same depths. Rise above this please Gooners.

The reserves were in action last night in a rather thrilling 4-3 win away at Blackburn. From the sounds of things Afobe and Aneke are looking handy having just made the step up in level, Djourou had a stinker and Squillaci made his debut. It was JET's last minute winner that made the difference against a very strong Blackburn side that included the likes of Benjani, N'Zonzi and Dunn. Have a peek at this free video on Arsenal.com, JET is looking very sharp indeed.

It's second against fifth as we take on Bolton at the weekend, goes to show how pointless the table is early doors. Bolton are no easy prospect and their front two are pretty muscular, Davies and Elmander, so it will be a good test for out new centre back pairing. The definites to miss out are RVP, Nasri, Theo, Bendtner, so I would expect to see something like this, but you never know what kind of condition players will return in:

Almunia
Sagna Kos Vermaelen Clichy (I'd like to see Gibbs)
Diaby Song Cesc
Rosicky Chamakh Arshavin

Having said that Cesc may well be too knackered having flown back from Argentina, that's a hell of a journey. I'd quite like to see Jack Wilshere get another start if this is the case with the front three as above. It would be good to see JET get a short run out from the bench, I am losing patience with Carlos Vela. I am going to join Arseblogger in some Gooner Haiku to finish:

Gooner til I die
Never sink to Spud level
Gooner til I die

Howcan you lose patience with vela when Wenger doesn't play him.

Because he never shows enough hunger when he does play. For me he looks complacent. Hopefully Carlos will prove me wrong but he needs to start doing more.

Personally I'd like to see JET get some minutes, he looks very promising indeed.
