It has been a decent game of football thus far, Sunderland have sneaked ahead but I hope we can show some character and turn things around in the second half. Very hard luck for Francis Coquelin to pick up another hamstring injury. I just had to comment on Howard Webb's generally low quality refereeing.
He failed to punish several poor Sunderland fouls in the first half hour, Gardner crunched Ramsey's ankle with his studs, no yellow, Cattermole nailed Song late well after ball had gone, no foul even given, Gardner then nailed Vermaelen late with no intention but to intimidate, add Turner's late cynical foul to this little collection.
Webb basically gave Sunderland a license to continue this tactic of deliberate intimidating fouls, shocking referee from an official I have never rated. It is these kinds of decisions that can turn games, they give a team an unfair edge which allows them to bully the opposition. Poor poor officiating.
the only thing lacking severly in quality aint Howard Webb. Its the 10 guys wearing blue jerseys. Should have worn the yellow away kit, its more apt for this bunch.

We should have had a penalty, but the overall performance was pathetic and the players deserved to lose. Most of the squad have no heart and character, which makes Wenger's repeated claims of mental strength all the more ridiculous.

I am tired of this team in general. And dont tell me to go watch spurs. But on that note, look where they have managed to go in the last 3 years compared to us? Sad. I feel utterly dejected now.

ReplyDeleteApart from Wilshere, Kos, Santos and Szezny(fabianski couldn't do anything about the goals though)this was probably our best team possible. Most of them is in defence so we had a pretty good offensive side on today, still we managed nothing up front. I dont want Wenger to leave but something has to happen in the summer... I hope this gets the wheels rolling and Wenger to dip into the transfermarket and get rid of these so called footballers like Walcott, Squill and so on. Really scared of the spud with this kind of display and the injuries mounting up.

Apart from the 12th player(Webb) The Sunderland players turned the match into a rugby match, and Webb also giving them the licence to bully the Arsenal players. Aside that the Arsenal boys should have become physical too,they should also have change their style of play by trying shots from outside the box.

Walcolt is minus one. Rosisky is a warnout engine. Arteta is not rising up to the occation. Ramsey only can perform for twenty minutes. Don't 4get the locomotive Arshavin. ReplyDeleteI think most of you lot watch on telly. Webb was very economical with the fairness. Have a look at the Untold Arsenal report when it comes out. Sunderland had a licence to push, pull and kick off the ball and on. Gardner and Catermole should have been off by 60 mins. The penalties were stone cold. You tell me how the Boys could have won today with two forced subs, DJ in defence and a dodgy ref. No team can cope with that! We are always going to be struggling with Rosicky and Arteta because they can't run and they can't fight, tackle or close down either but the rest put a shift in. Arsenal were the better team but you have to be brilliant to beat the ref and ---we wern't!
